Ticks the health risks
Ticks - the health risks

Ticks are able to transmit diseases which can be fatal.

They can be found in all sorts of places such as parks, golf courses, woods, playgrounds and your own garden.

Ticks aren’t just irritants - due to the ability to transmit diseases a bite can be potentially fatal to dogs. And if a tick falls from your dog’s coat and seeks you out as a host, then you too might pick up a very unpleasant disease.

Ticks can be serious health hazards and you should make sure your dog is protected.

  • Ticks can transmit numerous diseases, including Canine babesiosis and Borreliosis (Lyme disease) which can be serious and life-threatening
  • Ticks are a hazard to human health and can transmit diseases (e.g. Tick born meningoencephalitis and Lyme disease) to humans
